Tiles have been used since antiquity to cover both walls and floors and for many good reasons.  Durable and attractive they protect what’s underneath or behind them while adding beauty to wherever they are installed. There are many tile patterns to pick from to help you reach your design goals. Yet you don’t want to choose a layout haphazardly, instead you’ll need to read up and take some time to think. The brick layout on the other hand is almost always used on the wall and in particular on the backsplash.  It is one of the most commonly seen backsplash tile patterns in both bathrooms and kitchens since it can provide such a cohesive look, similar to that of a brick wall.  Getting more complex is always an option too and the herringbone does a fabulous job.  With this one, long narrow tiles are used to create a lavish looking space that resembles the skeleton of the herring fish in appearance.
